Founded in 2014, after the successful development of Haiti’s national teaching hospital, Hôpital Universitaire de Mirebalais, Build Health International (BHI) has completed over 200 projects that enhance public health systems and ensure long-term care for local communities across Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia.
Position Overview
BHI is seeking a strategic, conscientious, and adaptable Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to strengthen its financial systems and structures. This newly created role will play a pivotal part in the organization’s development, enhancing financial operations and treasury functions and partnering closely with senior leadership and Board members to drive financial planning and overall strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Stewardship: Oversee all financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to drive organizational strategy and improve efficiency through new processes and procedures.
- Team Leadership: Nurture a strong financial team, fostering collaboration and accountability within the organization.
- Cost Management: Manage cost accounting functions and assist with risk management, insurance, and contract administration.
- Sustainability Commitment: Advocate for sustainability, health equity, and local capacity building in a dynamic social and geopolitical landscape.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in financial leadership roles, ideally within nonprofit or global health sectors.
- Strong understanding of financial operations, budgeting, and compliance in resource-constrained environments.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
