The Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) was established in 2016 as a rapid and flexible funding mechanism supporting local women-led organizations in over 40 countries. The fund plays a vital role in promoting women’s participation in peace processes, protecting women human rights defenders, and strengthening community resilience during humanitarian crises.

 

 

Now, the WPHF is preparing for its next strategic phase—and they’re looking for an expert to help shape its future.


🎯 Role Overview: Lead the Strategic Vision for 2026–2030

 

 

This consultancy offers a rare chance to influence global policy and programming by leading the drafting of the WPHF Strategic Plan (2026–2030). You’ll work closely with:

  • The WPHF Secretariat
  • UN Women leadership
  • Civil society partners
  • Donor agencies
  • Grassroots women’s organizations

 

 

Your task? Your task is to develop a strategy that is forward-looking, inclusive, and actionable, guiding the fund’s impact for the next five years.


✨ Key Responsibilities

 

 

As the lead consultant, you will be responsible for:

  1. Strategic Review & Analysis
    Evaluate the current WPHF Strategic Plan (2022–2025), assess implementation outcomes, and analyze global trends affecting women in conflict and crisis settings.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement
    Facilitate virtual consultations with diverse stakeholders—including field implementers, donors, and grassroots leaders—to ensure broad participation and inclusion.
  3. Drafting the Strategic Plan
    Develop the narrative, goals, objectives, and key performance indicators aligned with global frameworks such as:

    • UN Security Council Resolution 1325 (Women, Peace, and Security)
    • Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
    • Localization principles
    • Intersectional approaches
  4. Validation & Finalization
    Present drafts for feedback, incorporate stakeholder input, and deliver a polished, publication-ready document.

📚 Required Qualifications

 

 

To qualify for this role, you should have:

 

 

✅ An advanced degree in international development, gender studies, peace and conflict resolution, political science, or a related field
✅ At least 10 years of relevant experience in strategic planning, program design, or policy analysis within international organizations or NGOs
✅ Proven expertise in gender equality , humanitarian affairs , and peacebuilding
✅ Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (French or Spanish is a plus)
✅ Experience working remotely across time zones
✅ Demonstrated ability to lead participatory consultation processes, especially with grassroots women’s groups
