Lead Groundbreaking Research in Humanitarian Education
The IRC’s Airbel Impact Lab seeks a Regional Research Deputy Director to spearhead transformative education research in conflict-affected regions, focusing on Bangladesh and Myanmar . This role is part of the FCDO-funded Education Research in Conflict and Protracted Crisis (ERICC) consortium, which aims to set global standards for education in emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Design and oversee ERICC’s research portfolio in South/Southeast Asia, ensuring alignment with global education goals.
  • Policy Influence: Disseminate findings to shape humanitarian policy and practice in collaboration with FCDO, governments, and NGOs.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build partnerships with local and international stakeholders to co-create actionable research agendas.
  • Team Management: Supervise researchers and managers to deliver high-quality, multi-country studies on education in crisis contexts.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Publish research in top-tier journals and present at global forums to amplify impact.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:

  • PhD or MA in Education, Social Sciences, or a related field with a focus on education in emergencies .

Experience for Regional Research Deputy Director:

  • 10+ years leading research in conflict-affected settings.
  • Proven track record in Bangladesh and/or Myanmar.
  • Expertise in managing complex, multi-country studies.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and publication record.
  • Ability to engage policymakers and stakeholders.
  • Deep knowledge of South/Southeast Asia’s socio-political landscape.
  • Fluency in academic and programmatic research methodologies.
