Position Overview
IOM is seeking talented and motivated individuals for multiple Research-Based Consultant positions to support global migration initiatives in 2025. These roles will contribute to vital humanitarian efforts by conducting research, analyzing data, and supporting program development and evaluation. Consultants will work across diverse projects, including migration studies, monitoring and evaluation, and policy analysis, with opportunities to make a meaningful global impact.

Key Responsibilities (of Consultants)

Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on migration-related topics, including displacement, labor migration, and integration.

Analyze data to inform program strategies, policy recommendations, and operational frameworks.

Support the design, implementation, and evaluation of IOM programs and initiatives.

Prepare high-quality reports, briefs, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Collaborate with IOM teams, partner organizations, and local stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

Contribute to monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities to assess program impact and effectiveness.

Stay updated on global migration trends and incorporate findings into research and programmatic work.
Qualifications and Skills

Education: Advanced degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Migration Studies, Social Sciences, International Relations, Public Policy, Statistics, or a related field. A PhD is an advantage.

Experience:

Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in research, preferably in migration, humanitarian, or development contexts.

Proven experience in qualitative and/or quantitative research methodologies.

Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks is highly desirable.

Skills:

Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, R, Stata, or Excel).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise reports.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.

Knowledge of migration policies, global trends, or humanitarian principles is an asset.

Fluency in English is required; proficiency in other UN languages (e.g., French, Spanish, Arabic) is an advantage.
