Local and international students planning to pursue undergraduate, master’s, and PhD programs specifically qualify for these high honor awards. The university will not use IELTS for students from approved countries or those who can prove their English proficiency in other ways.

The University of Alberta is the only place to find scholarships for high-level academic pursuits in Canada that don’t require the IELTS.

Eligibility Criteria

The program is available to international students of all nationalities.
You must apply for admission to a full-time degree program.
If you hail from an English-speaking nation, you don’t need to take the IELTS exam. You have completed previous education in English. You provide alternate proof, such as TOEFL, Duolingo, or a certificate from your prior institution.
