Position Overview
Become a part of CTG’s talent pool, which consists of pre-vetted individuals who contribute to food security and resilience in agriculture worldwide. Advisors will be sent to staff missions of various lengths (minimum of 3 months up to 12 months or more) at UN agencies, governments, and NGOs.
Role Objectives
Research & Analysis
- Implement food security studies by conducting both secondary data surveys and collecting primary data.
- Spotlight the exact nature of climate disturbances, war, and regulatory omissions that have an impact on agricultural systems and food security.
- Assess the value chains of products and access to those markets that pose restrictions.
Strategy & Policy Development

- Prepare resilience acquisition strategies that correspond to national development plans.
- Present policy changes that are apt to drive sustainable agriculture and food security.
- Come up with adaptive measures for climate, among others, introducing drought- and flood-resistant varieties, as well as the use of efficient irrigation systems.

Coordination & Reporting
- Act as a link between the ministries of government, the UN (FAO/WFP), and the local community.
- Get technical reports written up with datasets that are clean and that have the right insights.
Key Competencies
- A Master’s degree in Agricultural economics, Agronomy, Food Security, or a related field.
- More than 5 years of professional experience in food security or agricultural projects aimed at helping people in consuming emergencies or development contexts.
- Has the necessary technical skills in IPC/cadre harmonisé analysis, smart climate agriculture practices, policy formulation, and capacity building.
- The candidate has at least three years of professional experience in fragile and conflict-affected areas (preferably regions in Africa, MENA, or Asia).
- This person has the ability to handle Excel in its most advanced form; also, knowledge of SPSS/STATA and GIS would be an advantage.
- One strong point that this person has is the ability to speak English well; additionally, knowledge of French, Arabic, or Spanish
